subsequent recording starts too late
hi @all,
I have two favourites that should record every morning. The second comes directly after the first favourite. Both favourites have a start and a stop padding. I have two tuners using the same lineup. Surprisingly only the first tuner is used and the second recording starts after the stop padding of the first recording (far too late). So the beginning of the second recording is missing. I expected that automatically the other tuner is used for the second recording. Is it a bug or a feature? Any ideas? Eyk

The SageTV core handles recording. I would suggest that you switch to the default STV and see if you can reproduce the behavior. Once you have done that then you will be in a position to open a support ticket.
In the mean time, you can also check to see if you have 'Remove Padding on Back to Back Favorites' enabled. This would cause padding to be eliminated and two back-to-back recordings on the same channel to be recorded using the same tuner. This is almost what you describe except for the weird padding thing. Aloha, Mike

Thank you, that sounds promising! I changed that setting. I will post back then.

Yes, it works now! Sorry, it was one of those RTFM questions...
Thanks a lot! Eyk

But I understand why he was confused to start with. You would think that if Sage had two tuners at it's disposal, and two shows that have padding on both ends, it would use both tuners.
Tuner A - -5 minutes Padding | Show #1 records for 30 minutes | +5 min padding Tuner B - ________________ | ______________ -5 min padding | Show # 2 record for 30 minutes | +5 minutes padding Perhaps the shows are on the same channel (we weren't told by the OP) and that is the difference. I could understand Sage only using 1 tuner if both shows are on the same channel, but otherwise, I would expect it to use two tuners in that situation.
