How can I do "manual recording" with SageMC
Hi, I recently switched from default STV to SageMC. Unfortunately, I don't find (as a newbie) the way how to add a "manual recording" to my TV schedule. A related question : if manual recording conflicts with an scheduled series/favourites, is this notified (e.g. in schedule conflict)?

By manual recording, do you mean a one-time recording of some show you see on the program guide? If so, I do this by selecting the program in the program guide and hitting the "record" button on the remote.
If you want to record the same show every time it's on, or first runs of the show, then you select the show and select "record series" from the menu. If by manual recording you mean entering a day and time to record, then I suggest getting a VCR. Just kidding, I don't know how to do that but I also can't think of a reason to need to do this. Manual recording
The common use case where i need manual recording is to record a program that is not visible in the guide (e.g. no epg available for a particular channel) or the guide information is not specific enough to distinguish multiple airings. So is there a way to enter the recording data (start, stop time, channel nr) without clicking on the guide (BTW this is possible in the default STV).

Can't be done in SageMC. It can be done in the default STV.

You can add Manual Recordings to your menu by adding the internal screen item.
Hit Esc--Main Menu Options--New..--New Internal Screen--Manual Recordings Then name it, move it to where you want in the list etc....

You can also accomplish this by entering a timed recording on the SageTV Sage Webserver.
Had the same problem with the guide not being right. |
