Windows Server 2008/Sage TV, anyone have analog tuners working?

I am testing Windows Server 2008 x64 with SageTV and using BDA installation scripts that I found elsewhere have been able to get my HDHR and the ATSC side of a Hauppauge 1800 working but not the analog side. Any one have analog cards working? If so, how?

Thanks in advance.

analog solution for Server 2008

since I cant send you a private message here you go

I found this on another forum a while ago (if I could remember his name I would post it) this worked for me & for x64 only I think, so beware

(but I take no responsibility if this hoses your system)

If this doesn't work I have another 22 reg files you need to merge manual to cover other types of issues I faced etc..

then reboot

Code:

Also another handy file that was very useful to me, is readyplus for x64 server 2008. Since x64 flavor of server 2008 required certified drivers, this is a nice bypass for venders that haven't made proper drivers for vista x64/server 2008 yet

so far i have no regrets, its hands down the best and most stable setup I have every used with Sage. the network performance is is a lot faster over Windows 2003, using the same hardware, I saw a lot of re transmission/ack packets to the extenders in my home using win 2k3. Once I upgraded to Windows 2k8 feeding 5 extenders at once I have logged no drop packets. in the testing I did before I brought it into family service. The only thing I did was enabled gc collection "allow_periodic_explicit_gc=true" and this seem to keep the memory usage down to around around 400megs install over 800meg after a day. And I did not turn on super fetch service, I figured if its no on by default, why bother. Some people swear by it, I am still on fence about it.

Enjoy the server, even thought is a bit pricey for home use, its the best out there so far IMHO. and if your smart /creative enough, you can get it for free/legit ! all it takes a few minutes and a trip to MS/dreamscene in china.

Windows 2008 Server x64 and Sage TV Software

Hi Motofreak75 and Crazyclown,

I am trying to get my 2008 box configured to run my SageTV software and I am not having any luck at all. I have to dual tuner hauppauge WinTV-PVR500. I was able to install the drivers successfully from Hauppauge's website and even though the system sees the tuner cards, SageTV doesn't. I tried merging the registry code submitted by motofreak75 but it errors out saying that not all files could be merged because some services are still in use. So I shut down all services and killed all processes I could see and it's still a no go merging the code. I even tried it under safemode and safemode with networking only to get the same errors. Can either one of you help me out? I desperately want to get this working on my 2008 box. If you want you can email me at jcruz@shentel.net.

Thanks Guys

I posted this on MSFN but thought I would ask it here.

Does anyone know if a Hauppauge PVR-350 will work on W2K8? The folks over at MSFN say they got a PVR-150 working. I know the drivers are different, but I'm only interested in the recording side of the 350, not the playback.

Thanks,

Mark.
