Problem playing back HD
I am attempting to play back HD video on a SageTV client machine. I am getting the usual "problem with video -4,0x80040217" error every time I try to watch live HD TV or play back an HD recording. Standard definition shows work just fine. No amount of changing the MPEG4 decoder will get the error to stop. I considered posting this to the hardware section, but I don't believe any of this is a hardware problem.
The setup is as follows: * SageTV Client version 6.4.8, connecting to SageTV server on a separate machine * Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 Ultra is installed on the same client machine I tried deinstalling both powerDVD8 Ultra and SageTV and reinstalling PowerDVD8 Ultra, THEN SageTV, in hopes that SageTV didn't know how to pick up on CODECs that were installed after the fact. If I play the high definition mpg file that SageTV recorded in PowerDVD 8 Ultra, it plays/looks/sounds perfect, so I know that SageTV server is recording the files correctly and as expected. I did some digging around and turned on debug logging (now I'm getting 0x0 instead of the 0x8000... code - not sure what changed): Wed 12/31 21:23:55.376 M type MEDIATYPE_Video S type Unknown GUID Name F type FORMAT_MPEG2_VIDEO Wed 12/31 21:23:55.376 NATIVE RenderVideo step 3 Wed 12/31 21:23:55.453 WIN32 FAILURE HR=0xc0000094 FILE=.\CPlayerData.cpp LINE=942 Wed 12/31 21:23:55.454 Built:sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. Wed 12/31 21:23:55.454 sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. MPEG2? It's an H.264 stream! Huh? SageTV client is able to control the SageTV server and change channels on my Dish VIP211s. SageTV server is properly recording shows, and as I said above, the .mpg files play directly on the client machine with PowerDVD8, just not SageTV Client. ;-( Any ideas? Desparate to get working before the new year! Thanks! Last edited by neilbradley; 12-31-2008 at 11:28 PM. |
