Placeshifter 2MBps limit

Hi there,

I currently have a 2 MBps uplink internet connection, so I'm running Placeshifter at about 1.8 MBps. However, we may get an even faster uplink, and I just realized that Placeshifter has the 2 MBps limit hardcoded, meaning that it's not possible to select a higher datarate.

Developers, shouldn't this limit be lifted to 4 MBps. 2 MBps may have seemed like an arbitrarily high number in the past, but it isn't anymore. It would be a real shame to sit on a 4 MBit uplink and only be able to Placeshift at 2 MBps quality.

Sage doesn't really take feature requests, or even offer technical support, on the forums. I recommend e-mail Sage at support@sagetv.com or filling out the web form here. It would be nice if this were a configurable property.

Opus is very active, but he's not a developer as far as I know. I think he mainly just moderates the boards. Narflex is the main developer, but he doesn't watch the boards anywhere near as much.

While you're at it, I think you should tell them about your other feature requests. Some way of saving login information would be a very useful feature, and they really should fix the deinterlacing issue.

About the other feature requests, I think I did get their attention -- possibly a little too much, if you know what I mean!

The "vf=yadif=1:0" and "delay=-0.2" config commands dramatically improve visual quality on Placeshifter. Unless there's heavy motion, on a 2 MBps connection, Placeshifter is now nearly as good as sitting in front of a regular TV -- at standard def of course.
