Multiple HD PVRs
I have had a Rev D2 running for about 5 months. It's been running with no problems after the initial setup was done.
I decided to add a second HD PVR to my system and now the problems begin. I can get video out of both for a 3-5 seconds each but then the video stream locks up. I can still navigate the menus in Sage and such but no video/audio. Is there a trick to getting a second one working correctly? I'm wondering if I need to do a HWCLEAN and start over with all the hauppauge devices. Mike Last edited by abbott_m; 02-23-2009 at 06:57 PM. |

Unfortunately that's what I had to do to get my 2nd unit working

I have my second one added as a networked encoder and it seems to work very well. When I was considering how best to install it people seemed to indicate that having them each on hier own USB segment was important. I think on most motherboards that would mean if you have 4 ports connect to the ones that are side by side not in slots that are on top of each other. I have fond in my own experence with mine that not just a reboot but a cold start seems to help. Turn the machine off for like ten seconds after a change not just a reboot.

I still haven't been able to add a second HD-PVR
I can see the second device in the device manager, but sage won't recognize it.
I ran HWCLEAR, rebooted, reinstalled everything, but still only get one. I may have to use a network encoder, but I really didn't want to.

Try this: Set the Sage service to disabled (if it's set as a service), reboot, run hwclear, reboot, install drivers, reboot, enable Sage and start sage.
I've had to do this to work out some issues I was having, it might help you as well. |
