Any way to watch online TV show in SageTV?

My server has been acting up after 3-4 yrs. of faithful service and did not record "24" while I was on vacation last week. I know Fox advertises watching shows on their website but can I somehow get it onto my tv (preferably w/SageTv)? I do not want to watch it on the pc. I have an HD-200 Sage extender; can I somehow watch it on that

Thanks, Randy

Missed this weeks "24"; any ideas on getting it?

Is there any way I can get this weeks episode of "24" since it did not record while on vacation (server problems).

Thanks, Randy

Most of the network sites do not provide the videos in a form that can be used in SageTV, like the Online Video feeds. They must usually be watched in a browser. So, no, there usually isn't a way to get those network site videos into SageTV.

watching on line shows

This doesn't provide an instant fix if you don't have the right video card in your computer already, but I have a card that can drive our flat screen with DVI or S video. The flat screen has composite monitor out jacks that I feed back to the capture card's inputs as a composite source, so I can get the streamed video into the Sage recorder for later playback.

my card is a relatively cheap ($40) Asus 8400 PCI-e that seems to work for this. if you think your need for on line feeds will increase, it might be handy to have this option.

Just to make sure i'm understanding this correctly, you are suggesting that he should play the video via the website and output it, only to feed it to an input on the same PC and record it so he can watch it at a later time?

Wouldn't it be easier and less time consuming to just record a future airing? Not to mention the quality hit that would be suffered by doing this...

It's his only real choice if he dosn't want to watch on a computer (or a PC connected to a TV) and can't get it any other way. They don't repeat 24 episodes.

The way I do it is by launching Boxee via dynamic menu plugin, then using Event Ghost to control it. Boxee can view hulu shows in a nice 10ft. UI.

You could also use playon to access hulu in stand alone mode of the hd200.

Wasn't Hulu support removed from Boxee?
