2250/1600 Question

I'm trying to figure out if one Hauppauge 2250 is the equivalent of two 1600's. I'm not interested in hearing which is better, I just would like to know the equivalency.

I've already searched the forums and couldn't find the answer to my question.

Yes the 2250 is functionally the same as 2 1600s.

The differences: 1600 is PCI, 2250 is PCI Express. 1600 has ir blaster, 2250 does not. If you are using 2 x s-video you need the extra adapter that allows s-video/audio input for the second analog processor on the 2250. I believe it's included in the white box version from newegg. If not it can be ordered seperately.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. The tuners in the 2250 are hybrid OTA ATSC/QAM/Analog. So you won't have 4 tuners with the 2250, only two. The 1600 has two tuners on each card for 4 tuners total w 2 cards (2 x OTA ATSC/QAM & 2 x Analog).
