So what's new with this driver? It appears the only difference is that it has a newer ROM for the HDPVR.

So, have you tested it? Are you recommending it? For any specific configurations?

Anyone brave person who tries this 1.5.6.1 driver. Please report if you can, whether it fixes the audio drift (Sync) problem with Dishnet, Dobly Digital and VIP211 receivers???

Thanks (Stuck on 1.0.5.301 drivers)

That's not a bad place to be. Those have been working great for me with Dish for quite a while now.

Been running 1.5.6 stably for a while now. Just switched to optical S/PDIF a few days ago and haven't had any issues. I wouldn't touch these drivers until at least we get some sort of a release from Hauppauge as to what the changes are from the previous WHQL certified driver.

ArcSoft update

I see where they say there will be an update for ArcSoft around Oct 15. I see where they are promising a lot of things. And do their update usually work any better?

On the Hauppauge site:
Quote:
Note: This driver fixes A/V sync issues with some Dish Network and FIOS set top boxes. This release also fixes IR receive issues with third party applications. In addition, this release includes changes to fix flash memory corruption problems.
Note: This version includes a record format which can be immediately played back on a Sony Playstation3. This is the .M2TS format.
Note: This driver supports 32/64 bit Vista WHQL signed.

The info on the Hauppauge site (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/suppor...ort_hdpvr.html) is for 1.5.6., which has been out for a while. There is no 1.5.6.1 on that site, and hence there's no info what that driver update is about.

Shows you how much attention I've been paying, I didn't think there'd been a WHQL driver since 1.0.5.301.

And here too for a couple days, and they might even result in a bit more "solid" recordings than the 1.0.5.301 I'd been using.
