Comskip Settings
I have a question regarding comskip setings. I have comskip working well except the beginning and end of shows are skipped. We have to disable and skip back to see recaps or previews. Anyone know of a setting that will ignore first and last 90 seconds? Thanks.

That is my experience too. You want to set the time for longer than you think. Perhaps 180 or 240 seconds. Set it too short and you'll still miss the end of the show because the "commerical" is longer than your set time.

I guess this explains why this setting never worked the way I wanted or the way I thought it should. While using this setting, I frequently have the very end of shows marked as commercial even though its during the last 2 minutes. EDIT: Ah... I'll try that. Thx

Update: It worked! I had a few problems, but an upgrade to the latest version of comskip before adding the commands seemed to solve the problem--thanks for the help

I tried using the always_keep_first_seconds and always_keep_last_seconds parameters to eliminate commercials being marked at the beginning or end of a show. There has been no change. There are still commercials marked at the beginning and end of a show. I have tried using 300 and 500 for the parameter values. Am I missing something? Anyone else have this problem? Using comskip 0.80.030
The following values are used in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\comskip.txt: always_keep_first_seconds=500 always_keep_last_seconds=500 EDIT: I think I found the answer on the comskip forum. comskip.txt is the manual listing all the possible parameters and their default. comskip.ini is the file actually used by comskip. I will add the values to the comskip.ini file. Last edited by mbowling; 02-03-2010 at 10:52 AM. |
