Wouldn't the view Sage Video Imports (Combined) work for you? (The one below the view you are using.)

Gerry is correct, you'd probably want to the "combined" view, since that is what it's for. There is a "limitation" in the VFS whereby you cannot have 2 items with the same name cannot occupy the same space. The results are unpredictable in that case.

As I understand it, the combined includes movies, i.e. things I haven't set as sage recordings... which I exclude because it turns a manageable list into something too long and slow to be useful to me. No problem, I've worked around it as I said, just putting an fyi out there in case it was useful.

Can the metadata tool get the data using the original airdate? I know other tools such as EPnamer can use the original date. An example of the file name is below.
The Closer - (2010-12-27).mpg Epnamer recognizes this and renames to. The Closer - S06E14 - Living Proof (2).mpg

Thanks for the help guys one more ?
Any reason why the episode name does not appear in the properties file? Instead I get this in the ShowTitle and episode name... "Law & Order Criminal Intent - S03E03 - The Gift-221474-0" in bmt. Code:

Thanks that was it. I am testing out the XMLTV guide and using BMT provided information to rename the files with season and episode info..

So I've had to rebuild my machine and discovered that I've done a few new media scans without the 'use system messages for failed lookups' set, so wonder if there's a recently added view/search that I can do to retrace the last couple days... likely there are a lot of unfound items I'd lack to track down, but file/directory dates won't work for this issue......
I'm using it with the android variant's recently added menu item, but suspect thats not the whole story... don't ask me why. Thx. On second thought I read it as 'recently imported'... but I don't think a failed lookup get's imported.... |

In terms of "Recently Imported" an items is recently imported, even though it may not have correct metadata. ie, recently imported is not dependent having metadata. It would be possible to create a new view that is Recently Imported but missing metadata by creating a new vfs view based on recently imported, and then filtered by missing metadata.

So my sage box's HD died and I decided to do a fresh install of everything... sigh.
I've never been able to get the MediaTitles matching process to work well, but now that I'm about to start importing a huge number of files I thought it might be worth asking for a little help. Secondary question, after I see a lot of 'automatic metadata failed' messages is it too late to add the match and rerun the scan to 'catch' the failed items on a second pass? If I can get some help with these examples maybe it'll click and I can carry-on myself.... The file: Emily Owens, M.D\Season 1\Emily Owens, M.D. - S01E06.mkv The match I put in: <match> <regex>[\\/]Emily Owens*</regex> <title>Emily Owens</title> <year>2012</year> <metadata type="tv" name="tvdb">259106</metadata> </match> Falcón - S01E03.mkv <match> <regex>[\\/]Falcón*</regex> <title>Falcón</title> <year>2012</year> <metadata type="tv" name="tvdb">264141</metadata> </match> This second one I'm pretty sure gets screwed up w/the special character... help? Answered my own question... use the matcher in the webui instead of editing the wrong xml in the wrong place.... Seems to be working now, thx for the web function stuckless! OK, so I am in fact having trouble... works for some titles, not others.
File name: The Bridge (2011) - S01E01.mkv The non working match: <match> <regex>[\\/]The Bridge (2011)*</regex> <metadata type="TV" name="tvdb">252019</metadata> </match> any ideas? |

Nope, didn't work. Everything else seems to be working so far. Could this be a language thing?

Code:
<regex>[\\/]The Bridge .2011..*</regex> After looking back through your posts... I think it's the * instead of .* the * means zero or more times, but it needs to be prefixed with a character, and to match anything, you use use a period. So .* means match anything, whereas n* means to match zero or more n's. For the special characters, you can just use . again since that will match any character in that position.

Could this be related to language setting? the description on thetvdb says english, but it's actually a swedish production... maybe some setting deep in the undergrowth of thetvdb I don't see?just a thought. I've got a bunch of stuff with the (XXXX) date format in the filename and BMT is working like a champ on them for the most part. Unrelated to this issue, and I think I asked this a couple years ago and got a 'not yet', but is there any way to automate some special interest stuff I've got, such as: /racing/formula 1/2012/05 - monoco-practice 2.mkv /racing/MotoGP/2012/03 - Aragon-race.mkv /Learning/Advanced Fingerstyle Guitar/Clapton Classical Gas.mkv etc... I'd just like them sorted wtih the TV stuff... BMT dumps them in as movies, so what I'd love to be able to do is from the first example "racing" as the genre, Formula 1 as the show title, 05 as the episode#, and monoco-practice 2 as the episode title.... I can do this with the batch edit if needs must, but since I'm rebuilding now seems like the time to ask.... I can obviously change the file format to anything that would make it possible to catch/sort/stuff the fields... I realize BMT gets the info from elsewhere rather than creating it from the file name, but thought I'd ask.... Thanks in advance for any help! |

What's the minimum BMT wants to see filled in so the item no longer shows up in 'missing metadata' search? Alternately is there a modified search I can do to filter out items with missing metadata but have title, genre filled in manually?

For the second question... It's possible, but probably very complicated, since it would require you to build one or much views manually using the VFS xml. Although I'm not sure you can tell the different between a title or genre being manually filled in vs automatically filled in.

Hello, I having real problems with searches from thetvdb.com and wondering if there's some new problem....
Searching for "Life in the Undergrowth" gets me nothing... though it does exist... even putting in a matcher for the series ID doesn't find it.... The only thing that searching even seems to bring back ANY results is IMDB, all the other sources give me no results... even if I search for something as generic as "Life".... Any suggestions? |
