Start from begining or resume

Having 2 HD100s - Why does the show that has been stopped on #1, at say the 30 minute mark and start to watch on #2, begins at that point and not the begining.

Isn't the resume point on the extender?

Is there a "switch" to always start at the begining?

Thanks

the resume point (watched status, etc) is in the database (stored on the server) so it is independent of the UI that viewed the airing (btw most of us think this is a feature...).

another thread that is similar that may help you get what you want...:

Yeah most of us prefer it that way so that if we are watching in one room and we move to another we can start where we left off. I wouldn't want it any other way. This might actually be the first time someone has complained about this feature!

Thanks, I guess I'll live with it. Two different viewers for the extenders.

Doing what the other thread suggested will have to do. (watched/unwatched).

Multi-Stop stvi is OK, but a Multi-Start similar to Directv would be a better option for me.

Sounds like its time to try your hand at studio ... it shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish once you get the hang of studio.

Um this has not been my experience.

If I move to another extender while something is still being watched upstairs, the program starts at the beginning, which is annoying because I have to fast forward to the place I want to start with. Do you have to stop the recording on #1 for it to mark the current location?

Yes - it is the same for me as well. I always hit stop first for recorded/ripped content. Live content I have to hit record and then I can do either - resume or start from the begining.
