HD-200 power adapter

My youngest pulled down the whole HD-200 and the power adapter end broke off in the HD-200. I pulled it out but need a new adpater. I emailed Sage with no response today. Need one quick. The natives are restless!

Any ideas where I can pick on up. I Googled and found no where to buy it!

Thanks

Joe

just match the voltage/polarity/plug size on a replacement. If you don't have a drawer of them at home to pick through, bring the pieces to radio shack and they'll help you find one that matches.

There is nothing magical about that specific adapter.

Don't forget to make sure it carries enough amps (or watts) too.

ditto. If not putting out enough amps, weird things can happen....

Did you ever find a cheap replacement? I need to get a new power supply as well, but am not sure about the true current requirements, or the size of the plug.

Seriously, no one has any idea? I even e-mailed support about this, but no response

Looks like it's this power supply, but since I can't find them for sale anywhere, I was hoping someone could suggest a good replacement.

I'm still looking for a place which sells a power supply compatible with the HD200. The size of the DC barrel plug is not typical, and I really don't want to hack something together. Never got a response from SageTV either. Really would like to get my HD200 going again.

Radio Shack usually has a variety of "wall wart" power supplies. And a variety of barrel connectors/adapters. Likely under $20.

Just get one with the same voltage and equal or more amperage rating.

That's the other thing. What are the actual power requirements for the HD200?

Don't have the actual requirement, but the old one says 12 volts & 2 amps, and the connector looks to be OD 3.4 with positive on the inside. If mine was broken, I would give this one a try, or more likely just grab any old 5.5 OD even cheaper ones and splice in the old connector.

Great! another size!!

I laready have a full box of AC adaptors and none of them fit the HD200.

Okay So Sage went out of their way to find a small adaptor that no one else uses.

Good job and no where to get a replacement.

Sage is a good company but they clearly picked the wrong adaptor size.

I ended up getting one from eBay, wasn't difficult to find. This is the one I got (from this seller):

I found a PSU, it had the wrong connector on it, so I chopped the one off the original and put it on the new one. Voilą!

Electron, did that one have the correct barrel end on it, so it was just take it out of the box and "plug and play?"

I order up a couple of these, I'll report back when I receive them and indicate whether they work or not.

It's sounds like folks have been using these for 6+ months with the HD200 without any problems.

The adapter linked to above worked perfectly right out of the box. Plug it in and go. I even purchased an extra one as a backup for other units.

Thanks to Electron for that information.
