nvidia 9400GT dual display problem

I am using Nvidia GeForce 9400GT with DVI and HDMI output
I setup my SageTV client with single DVI output monitor.
I then enabled dual display, extended (not clone)
If SageTV client is in DVI (left) monitor I can see what is playing.
If I move SageTV window to right monitor (HDMI)
Video goes to black, move SageTV to left monitor and I can see video again.

SageTV will only play on primary monitor?
Any idea how to make it play in secondary window?

Thanks,
Ray

More specifically, Windows XP will only do Hardware Accelleration to the Primary window. Upgrade to Vista/7 and it'll work great. Another option is to choose horizontal Span mode in the nvidia drivers, instead of dualview. This will present the two as a single double-wide monitor to windows, so the video will work. The problem here becomes window management (Maximize will set it across both monitors, etc).

You might try messing with overlay vs. vmr, but I'm not sure if either would give you an acceptable solution. (At least not as good as upgrading to win7)

Thanks for the info.
Tried to make the HDTV on HDMI output the primary display
but lost clean looking picture.

Clone seems to work fine.
The fun and games of upgrading.
At least the HD-PVR works well since I switched to AMD 4200x2.
Not the newest CPU but better than the 3500 I had before.
Thanks,
Ray

Did you try restarting playback after switching monitors?

I tried everything.
Both had different resolutions, so I had to adjust overscan and such.
Clone just was better.
Will try again tomorrow.
Thanks,
Ray
