Movie Won't Play
I don't know what I did.... I know that is very unhelpful for troubleshooting, but I did something and now My Movies will not play any of my videos, even though two days ago they were playing wonderfully (thanks - I love this plugin!). If I uninstall My Movies they play fine with the default Videos. Can anyone help? I admit I am a novice at this stuff. What can I look up or post that will help anyone?

Did you upgrade anything smm or mymovies related?
Did you change any paths in sagetv import directories or mymovies directories? |

I don't even remember what I was trying to do, sometimes I just play around for the fun of it ? I don't have that many videos, do you think uninstalling my movies database and reinstalling would possibly help? It appears to me like something is not pointed at the correct path, but I have no idea how to even begin to figure that stuff out.

Thanks for any help, still no idea... |

Nope you need to install the latest pre release of smm. 3.18 pr 2 I believe is the latest release. After doing that upgrade rebuild your datafile and you will be good.

Same problem, nothing plays
this is a new setup, only have had the equipment for less than a week.
I have removed all of the software/addins from my WHS and my HD-300 and reinstalled with the latest versions as of 10/20/2010. My extender works fine and plays my movies (ISO, TS, and MPG) without a problem. But if I turn on the My Movies plugin, I get great looking menus but it will not play anything. My images for the box covers looks to be working fine, but when I select anything it just will not get me to the point of playing. It is like the buttons jsut do not work. Any sugestions? |

If they don't it won't work (also you must be running the latest pre release of mymovies 3.18 pr3). Rebuild your datafile after fixing the issue. |

I'm having a problem with playing most movies as well, one or two work but the majority don't. Not sure when it worked/stopped working.
- Checked paths in Sage and Collection Manager - Running latest SMM and API, Collection Manager PR3 - Rebuilt data file via plugin config Getting the following in the sage client log: Code:

Short story your paths don't match for those files you are getting that on. It is suppose to show a popup but that is broken in the current build. |

Strange. Paths certainly matched so i moved the folder outside the import path , rescanned both Sage and Collection Manager, moved the folder back, rescanned. Works now.

My paths match but no movie will play. I noticed yesterday that the my movie database build icon was displaying. So I left my HD300 on and this morning the icon was still there. What are my next steps?

I have tried about everything I can think of, and still no luck getting my movies to play except by disabling SMM.
Is there a place to go in with a text editor and check/edit my path in Sage and also in WHS My Movies? I have not been able to find the path option in WHS My Movies. My cover art is showing up under the My Movies menu option on my HD-300, but if I press the info key I get a synopsys but none of the other meta data is working. Also, to verify my storage path If my movie rip is in \\Media\Videos\Date_Night\Video_TS My path for Sage and WHS My Movies shout be \\Media\Videos I am sure that this is user error, but the WIKI makes it sound so simple I must be just missing somthing easy. |

.[/QUOTE] Info doesn't work that is logged at the top of know issues. I haven't completed info view yet. As for the not playing the next build will again tell you if it is a path issue or not. |

Okay odd, i went to the api config under plugins and set it to imemdiate updates. This fixed my play issue on my first test file. Unfortunately, my sick kids demanded that they then be able to watch the movie, so I can test the others in about 90mins
I imagine a DB rebuild would have worked as well.
