Music Playback Questions

Recently upgraded to V7...delighted!

I had hoped, though, that the "Music" functionality would have improved significantly. I have searched these forums, the manual....and are left with a few questions unanswered:

1. When playing an album, and navigating away from the Music menus (like back to "Main" screen), how can I get back to the "Album Detail" of the currently playing album? This is really confusing and frustrating.

2. I had hoped (and thought I had read a month ago) that I would be able to use the remote's skip (FFWD) button to jump to next song or back a song. It looks like in the manual that Channel up/down should do this, but when I use the remote "channel up/channel dwn" or the keyboard "pageup/pagedwn), I simply navigate up and down the upper menu, NOT change to next/previous song.

3. Still cannot put a CD in my drive and play it? Back in 2005, heavy MCE user, and could play and rip a CD from a drive.....it was brilliant. Cannot believe that there are not others that find this omission a show stopper for using Sagetv as a music player. I did read some time ago about a customization that would do this....but nothing in the V7 plugins.

For those that do use their HTPC's for music playback, how are you doing this? Do you use an external application to play CD's, rip, browse, and playback stored media?
