Anyone using the new Shaw Direct 6xx HD receivers w/ Colossus over HDMI?
Has anyone out there tried the new Shaw Direct HD receiver (6xx model) with the Colossus over HDMI? Does it work? I think I'm going to upgrade to these regardless because of the much, much smaller footprint compared to the DSR505s sitting in my office, but I'd probably speed up the process of ordering them if the HDMI capture also worked.

Just to answer my own question, the DSR 605 receiver will not work with the Colossus over HDMI. So you can guarantee the 630 will not work and the 600 probably won't. I say probably won't for the 600 because there's a slight chance (though slight is probably optimistic) that the 600 may be more lenient with HDCP given that it's a lower end unit designed to work with all sorts of low end/crappy tvs, equipment, etc. Even with that said, I'd be shocked if it did work via HDMI.
Instead, I'm using component from the 605 into my Colossus and it's all working fine.

Unless, as I say, the 600 is more lenient with HDCP, but I highly doubt it is and don't have one to test. Eventually I'll be replacing the 209 devices in the bedrooms with 600s, but I'm in no rush to do it so I won't be able to test until then. The safe bet is to go with 605s until someone actually tests with a 600 and reports back.

605 or 600? I just ordered 600s to replace the 209s in the bedrooms and should have them later this week. I'm not very optimistic, but will be trying them with the Colossus before putting them in the bedrooms.

however, I have noticed the 605 is far less stable as far as playback thru my Sagetv servers output in comparison to the 505. what would be the difference? The one thing I miss on the 6xx series are hard-buttons for changing output resolution...makes it a pain to do testing.
