Is it possible to get BMT to grab fanart for shows in the guide?

I'm using the Diamond plugin that displays background full-screen Fanart in the Program Guide, so I'd like to see as many backgrounds as possible while browsing the guide.

Is it possible to get BMT to download the fanart for arbitrary items in the guide? Ideally this would be through an options menu.

It's definately possible. Diamond would have to implement that portion of the phoenix apis. I think that jrekiwi's plugin (read/write metadata) may do this already. You can also so this from the web ui, if you use the Upcomming Recordings view.

It does, but there is still the restriction that it only will download fanart for TV shows that have an episode name.

JREkiwi's read/write metadata does exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

That'll change in a couple of builds... especially given that 7.1 will support season and episode in the epg data

Thanks. It would be good for those of us who only have access to epg data that will never have epsiode names or season and episode numbering if we could grab the fanart.

I gotcha. Series level fanart when the episode isn't known. I'm pretty that's been requested a few times. I'll see about moving it up on the priority list

+1. There are a ton of shows like this, pretty much all the daytime soaps, network nightly news, weekly news Sunday news talk shows, regular shows from CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, game shows...
