Converting from BeyondTV: Using BMT to import metadata into SageTV

I'm trying to convert from BeyondTV to SageTV. I've got a large library of video files, with show description metadata. I'm wondering how best to convert this library into something that SageTV likes.

The video files play/work just fine, but I'm trying to convert the metadata over.

I can get the metadata into an XML file, and it seems like BMT might be able to import that XML-based metadata into SageTV, but I don't know how.

My XML data is of the form (created by Nielm's BTV to SageTV XML translator):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE sageShowInfo PUBLIC "-//NIELM//DTD SAGESHOWINFO XML 1.3//EN" "http://sageplugins.sourceforge.net/nielm_modules/sagexmlinfo/sageshowinfo_1_2.dtd">
<sageShowInfo version="1.3">

I think you have the wrong tool. BMT does not import metadata via xml. You should check out the Sage Web Server.

I went down this path and it failed utterly for me.

However, what did work (100% by the way) was using a utility called BTVRenamer. This renamed the files to SxxExx format from BTV. Than any of the various plugins automatically brought in and picked up the metadata for my shows.

Thanks for the pointer, but the sage web server doesn't really seem to work for me. I've heard from others, 3rd hand, that it doesn't work any more. This sort of seems like a natural fit for BMT, if I understand BMT at all.

Good pointer. I may try that route.

I agree that it's something that would fit within bmt, but given that the sage webserver already does this, there is no need for me to do it. You could research the .properties method of importing metadata which has nothing to do with BMT either, but it's the sagetv built-in method of importing metadata.
