Proper way to add 2nd HD-PVR USB

I just bought a open box HD-PVR from newegg and am having problems getting it set-up. I am trying to find out quickly if its OK or I have to return it.
Can someone tell me the proper way I should go about installing this.

Here some info; I run WHS with Directv as my provider. I use HTTP tuning and the second HD-PVR I got is the gaming edition [black unit with green recording light]

The first time I tried to install I got the yellow conflick in WHS device manager. It only showed [1] ? hd-pvr and niether one would work in Sage. I disconnected the "new" one and power off and then on the old one and it started working again in Sage.

Thanks for any help.

I had a similar issue when setting up dual hd-pvr on windows xp. Connect one HD PVR up at a time to make sure, they receive the same firmware and driver. Then both devices should be able to be attached at the same time.

I already have one set-up. Now should I turn the server off plup in the new HD-PVR. Then reboot and then power up the pvr? Will I then need to install a driver or will WHS find the one I am already using?

How should WHS device manager show the [2] pvr's?

Thanks

I guess the unit was an open box because it had a bad power supply. Swapped out with my old unit and it now works great.
