Anysee E7 S2 - Working with CAM support
All,
Good news for anyone wanting to use DVB-S2 tuners natively with SageTV making use of hardware CAM support and that are freely available to buy. I originally tried an Anysee E7 S2 tuner about 6 months ago however I experienced all sorts of problems, first off the included application (CNO.exe) caused conflicts, if you stopped the application from running then the LNB power option did not work properly and channels wouldn't work. The good news is that I tried it again recently using the lastest Anysee drivers and after disabling the CNO.exe application (removing it from Windows start up) it now all works very well and has full native SageTV CAM support, it is now running along side two FireDTV-S2's which also have native CAM support. For information I am using Diablo WiFi cams all of which connect to an OSCAM server via newcamd and it appears to work very well. Also unlike several of my other cards (TT-3200 and FireDTV) BBC One HD also works with this tuner. Hope this helps someone. David For info I have been trying out two Anysee E7's and two FireDTV's running together all with Diablo Wifi cams and they seem to play together without problems so far. Hi David, does this mean you don't need any third party software other than Oscam/newcamd to work with a valid sky card? I'm still trying to get a stable system going....

Hi,
Yes, I use OSCAM as a server and connect four Diablo WiFi cams via newcamd (or cccam, currently I prefer newcamd). It works well for me. If you try this sort of set up then I would recomend turning any wifi encryption off on the router (I set my router to only accept certian MAC addresses). I do occassionally have to reset either OSCAM or the Diablo Cams but this is mostly because my system runs 24/7 and things seem to inevitably go wrong after a week or so. OSCAM is still in development so it may become more stable, I am using "1.10rc build 6089" which is the latest stable release of OSCAM for windows. In the past I have used lots of other options including DVBE4SAGE which I found to be unreliable (when run 24/7) and DVBLogic which was good but the newer version does not support SageTV (although I do still use DVBLogic with WMC and Xbox360s' as extenders), I prefer this Diablo cam setup with SageTV and I have been using them for a couple of years. I hope this helps, David Last edited by Bacon2002; 01-02-2012 at 10:04 AM. |
