/rant: Am I alone in my problems with MM (not SMM in this case)?
So, I got my new HDMI-capable SSP so I'm trying to polish up my movie display since I'm more inclined to use Sage. Anyway, I've been trying to setup SMM. That went reasonably well (couple bumps) I've got it installed working.
What I'm trying to do now is get MyMovies all setup/cleaned up, but man is this frustrating. Problem 1) I set it up to monitor my DVD/BD/TV folders set it to Strict title matching which I thought was supposed tell MyMovies to only match titles with an exact match in the database, but it seems to be picking up lots of bogus titles. Problem 2) I'm getting lots of duplicates, things showing up two or sometimes three times for the same path. Problem 3) How do I put it, well I'm just not that impressed with the data, for the major stuff it seems OK, but for other stuff it's just not that great. So, am I alone, am I missing something? Thanks, and sorry for the rant. |

You aren't alone. My database decided to just disappear yesterday. Got everything back, but very odd that it just decided to wipe everything.

I just turned off monitor, deleted the whole database/started from scratch, and did a manual scan. new stuff gets added at the time of adding... manually went back and fixed the 'odd' crap... was a one time deal, everything has been fine since that initial setup... Quote:
but I am not all that picky... as long as the title is correct and there is some artwork I am happy...

Yeah, I gave up and purged it from my systems, the data was off for way too many things that I wasn't going to try and fix it. Think I'm going to relook at BMT (which did a pretty good job, especially since I sourced most things from DVD Profiler which I've been pretty diligent with, though a little out of date lately) and maybe either Phoenix or Diamond.
Of course it looks like now I've got to go fix the damage it did, should have not let it make .properties files. |
