Question HD100 Has GUI.. but no response from Remote

Over the weekend one of my HD100's stopped responding to remote commands.. I rebooted it, and it boots up fine, or so it seems.. but it fails to respond to commands.. the panel on the front has a solid activity light and the link light isn't staying lit.. the opposite of what I'd expect?

Is it possible the internal IR went bad? Any way to verify or repair such a thing? Is this the beginning of the end for my family sagetv build?

Thanks!

It could be the power supply going. There are various symptoms when this occurs. Look inside to see if there are any bulging capacitors on the internal power supply or actual leakage. See other threads for replacing it.

And of course you have done the obvious-put new batteries in the remote.

Ha! Yes, the batteries were the first thing I tried.. then I tried a 'known good' remote.. the lights on the front panel aren't correct, even though the gui is fine.. normally you see some blinking when IR is received, and I'm seeing none of that.. I'll open it up and check those caps again... didn't occur to me that maybe they could go bad.. again!
