no signal from hd300 or hd200 via hdmi on new hdtv

The problem, in short: I just purchased a new HDTV - it's an LG 47LV5500, LED backlit LCD tv (their 2011 model). The tv reports no signal is being transmitted from both my hd300 and my hd200 box when using HDMI.

More detail: I had a Panasonic plasma tv (S30 line, 2011 model), and I had and still do have a Pioneer av receiver. The Sage HD300 client was hooked up to the av receiver via HDMI, and worked flawlessly with the Panasonic tv. I recently switched to the above mentioned LG LCD tv - that was the only change made. The one HDMI cable from the av receiver that delivers signal was unplugged from the Panasonic, and plugged into the LG. Now, there is no signal being detected from the HD300. I also have a PS3 hooked up to the av receiver via HDMI, and this is detected just fine by the LG tv. So, it's not a TV-receiver communication issue, it's specific to the HD300.

I went through the basic troubleshooting. Swapped HDMI cables from the HD300 to the receiver, swapped ethernet cables from the HD300 to the router, reset the router, etc. I also plugged the HD300 directly into the TV via HDMI. None of these experiments rectified the issue. Next, I connected the HD300 directly to the tv via the component video cables, and the signal was detected and everything worked fine. I also have a HD200 box that I hooked up to the tv via HDMI, and also received no signal.

So, the problem is specific to using HDMI to hook up either the HD300 or the HD200 to the tv. I'm guessing this is some sort of video format or HDCP handshake issue. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? My HDMI cables are the latest specification - the one that can handle 3D video - not that I have anything that can produce 3D video, but I just wanted to clarify that it's not necessarily the cable.

You could try using your component or Svideo out to configure your HD200/HD300 to force HDMI output. I remember having a TV I had to do that on to get working. (In that case it was converting HDMI to DVI)

Don't remember exactly where but its in the settings.

Start the extender in stand alone mode, then go to Settings->Advanced Setup->Mutimedia->Force HDMI Display Mode set to enable and give it a go...

Just to update, I had never set up the extender to output to HDMI in the first place. Strange that HDMI out worked on the first tv. And I completely forgot there were settings outside of the SageTV environment. So, once I went into settings on the unit itself, and changed to output to HDMI, and automatically setup output resolutions, it worked fine.

I did force HDMI out first, but it turns out I didn't need to do that.

Another issue I encountered was whenever I used 1080p/60 as my output, there was a lot of noise (white speckles) showing up on the SageTV interface and when I played back video. I switched my output resolution to 1080p/24, which got rid of the speckles, but caused all of my non-24 fps video to look terrible. Finally, I realized I had to enable the switch to native resolution setting. So everything is fine now. To be honest, my guess is that I was never outputting my signal in HD on the first tv - and only now after troubleshooting are things outputting properly.

Thanks for the suggestions. Next time I'll dig around more before posting, but hopefully this will be useful for someone else.
