New install hanging up?
Hello! Been a loyal SageMyMovies users since the beginning Server crashed a few months ago and getting it rebuilt now.
The first time I tried to install SMM it never got off the "Plugin Install Process: Finalizing Install: SageMyMovies API" and I ended up going to bed. When I woke up, the computer had rebooted. I checked the plugins page and neither the main SMM or API were installed so I tried installing them again. Took like 1 second and it was done. Seemed to 1/2 way work in that I had all my covers but did not have posters or backdrops. Also, the SMM icon in Sage in the upper bar never went away. I waited for a couple days and tried different things (like uninstall and reinstall of SMM) and no difference. There are NO backdrops or posters in the FileStorage folders either but in reading, it seems like these aren't downloaded automatically and SMM actually does "something" that requests these to be downloaded from the MyMovies website. I have over 1100 points and was using backdrops and posters with no problem on my previous install. My current Collection Management program on my Sage server shows me being logged in with the proper points. In an effort to start over with the SMM install thinking the original hang might be the problem, I deleted the SageTV folder from the MyMovies share location (after uninstalling the plugin and shutting down Sage and Service). I restarted and went to try to re-install SMM. I've currently been "stuck" at the same spot for over 20 minutes. The only two folders created thus far in the share location under SageTV are "Datafiles" and "Properties". Wait... as I type this, two more folders just showed up... "Desktop" and "Extender". Their creation time is 23 minutes later. And, the plugin is now showing as done! So hopefully I'm good UPDATE: It has now been an additional hour and still the same... no files in the Backdrops or Posters folders. I suspect I'm running into a similar problem as I had last time. I do have 2200+ movies in my database so expect to take a little longer but you'd think I'd have at least one by now? What would be the best way to get some logs posted? Should I just enable SMM logging, reboot the computer, give it about an hour, and then shutdown and send the logs? Not sure the best way to do this since it seems to be "stuck" Thanks!!! |

Update: After about an additional hour, the SMM icon in the upper bar went away! That is good But, still no backdrops or posters and no files in the applicable folders either. I've just forced a rescan and lets see if it works this time. If the rescan completes and the SMM icon goes away and I still have no files, I'll really be at a loss.
I'll get some logs if this doesn't work |

man oh Man U are testing an old guys memory iirc u have to set the backdrops to download from the my movies manager under metadata settings and then refresh it there (takes a while). SMM will cache them as needed/used at that point.
As for Posters I am pretty sure your right that was something I downloaded manually...not sure on that one have to give the code a look and repot back. |

Hmm? Since I've been doing this for a few years now (or close to it!) maybe in previous versions of Collection Management all this stuff just happened but now with the newer versions they have added options and defaulted them OFF? I don't know. I'll wait and see what happens after the Collection Management update is completed entirely and see if I can find something more out about the Posters. If you recall something in the meantime, please do tell. LOL! Thanks, Plucky! Oh, also, on my previous Sage setup I'd only ever see the SMM icon in the upper bar when I did a forced rescan. Now I see it every so often and it stays there for a while then goes away. Seems like before I expected to see it because I had a library scan set to 2 hours I believe but that never did work (or at least I never saw the Sage or SMM icons for scanning in progress) unless I forced the scan in the Setup menu. Maybe that is working now on my new computer? |
