Plex streaming Local News Feeds

I was wondering if any of you savvy people know of a way to create a plex channel that could stream local TV station news feeds from their websites.

I have tried creating Roku channels, but quickly found out it does not work with flash videos, and I don't have the expertise to create Plex channels. I can also assume that there is some kind of security check in the flash player on the web browser as well. I really want to completely cut the cord, but I also have some serious hills that prevent me from receiving OTA transmissions.

I think PlayOn can do that and its built in... not sure though as I haven't used PlayOn for a really long time.

PlayLater would allow recording of the sites for playback at a later time. It is what I use to record from Amazon and Netflix to mp4. You can add channels to it and your local stations may already have channels setup. If not then maybe you could request someone else to create channels on the Playon forums.

There is a PlayOn plugin (script) called "local channels" which has (per the name!) local channels from various cities across the country. I think there is also a plugin called "local news" or some such, look around on "playonplugins.com". I know there is one for various international news streams.

Yes, thanks for the advice. I have looked at those scripts, of course my city is not on the list.

I know there is a site called playonscripts.com, and you can post a bounty for someone to make the script for you. That being said, what would be a realistic price? I couldn't see paying more than $30-40, but is that worth someone's time to make a script for that?
