Well guys I find myself looking at these forums less and less, most of you know I have already switched to WMC. That seems to be working well for me and how I use things.

Anyway I just wanted to say so long be for I end up not checking in anymore. Thanks to all for the great conversations and debates over the years. Lots of great info here, some cant be found anywhere else. Anyway cheers guys!

You are aware that there are a lot MORE information coming to the forums in the next few months, right?

Well isn't that just like me, a day late and a dollar short.

Awesome news boys! So forget about my OP, and I'll be seeing you around, Thanks!

This is a delightful thread to read.

It does make me wonder how many people missed the news, though. If you weren't paying attention or you only come on here occasionally, you could easily miss the new "Sage Open Source" subforum, and people probably don't pay attention to the Announcements up top.

I subscribed to the Announcements thread years ago, so that anything important from Narflex/Opus arrives in my inbox. That's how I was alerted to the big announcement a few weeks ago.

Even today, I don't think WMC holds a candle to Sage except for encrypted content. And in a funny twist of fate, Sage has the future while WMC does not.

Yeah, I have been so busy with other parts of my life, I haven't even given TV a thought, WMC works well enough for my families use, but as everyone knows it's also dead.

I have just been waiting for the next big thing, who knew it could be Sage al over again! But man this is just great news. I have always loved Sage and wished it could have kept up with the times, and now it can!

I am going to subscribe to the announcements thread for sure!

Thanks for setting me straight once again guys!

Maybe Opus/Narflex could send a system-wide PM to all registered users on the forum? If they aren't set up to be notified about them, they won't be "bothered" by it, but if they ever decide to pop by again, they'll hopefully see and check their PM.

I agree, though: I got a good chuckle out of this thread.

Only because I posted it right? I always seem to be a few days behind from where everyone else is, too lazy to read through everything ...

Its funny though, I hit the wrong favorite and ended up here, then realized I hadn't popped by in months. Then thought I should write what I wrote just in case I forgot to stop by again ...

Hey... I was just glad it wasn't yet another new topic telling everyone that SageTV was going to be open source.

I'll always remember March 9th, because it's my wife's birthday, er, no, because it was the day of the monumental announcement.

I kind of think this is probably one of those few rare occasions where having a thousand topics all heralding in the good news may be a good or appropriate thing?
but I may be somewhat biased as I never found anything better than sage...
