New user got everything working but have video freezing problem

first off thank you thank you thank you for the new beta with sdepg built in, because i have tried on several occasions to get the sdepg plugin to work and never succeeded.

On to my problem, every time I watch "live" tv (and if the show has been running since it started not if I came in part way) the screen will freeze once the show ends. It's as if the transition from one show to the next just freezes up. The next show will still record in the background, the mouse and keyboard still work, so the ui is not frozen, and I can simply retune the channel and continue watching, but it's an awful inconvenience.

I have tried turning off the retune setting, my video drivers are up to date and my hdhomeruns are up to date.

I started with commskip enabled, but I turned it off to see if that were the cause... no change.

I have googled and googled, and those are the only solutions I could find to try.

Any help would greatly be appreciated, if you need a log file I'll post one later today don't have time right now.

As a workaround to the problem, you can set this value:

videoframe/safe_fast_file_switching=false

Set that in Sage.properties, unless you are using service mode on Windows...or SageTVClient; and then in that case set it in SageClient.properties. Be sure to exit SageTV before making that change.

You will then see a black flash when it changes from one program to the next, but it should no longer hang. You can also turn on Debug Logging in Detailed Setup->Advanced and post the log file here if you want in order to determine what the actual problem is...and if my suggestion doesn't fix it, then also post the log file.

That value should already exist in the file, so you just need to change it from true to false.

I think it has to do with it using the LAV Video Decoder...that's the only thing that looks different. You may want to try selecting a different Video Decoder in Detailed Setup.
