Stereo to 5.1 up-mix

Since it seams the only way to record streaming services is in stereo, I was wondering if anyone had a found a usable 5.1 up-mix program?

Interesting, but I would prefer to convert the video file.

Don't most AV receivers do a stereo to 5.1 up-mix already (Dolby Pro Logic)? I'm not sure if there is anything to gain by doing the up-mix in the video file instead of just doing it at the receiver level.

I have an older receiver and I tried it. I am not really that happy with the results.
