Playing Nice with Hauppauge 150 & IR Blaster

After failing to get my IR blaster in my Hauppauge 150 to work while running alongside a Hauppauge 250 and searching this forum confirming this is a known issue, I’m looking for an inexpensive alternative to the 250.

I have my 150 connected to an STB via it's IR Blaster and want a second tuner to connect to “normal” coax cable, and I would like to keep the cost well below $100 if possible. A couple of possible alternatives I’ve seen are the Hauppauge USB device and the TV Wonder PCI card. Has anyone had any success getting those to play nice with a Hauppauge 150 and Blaster? Or maybe have other low cost suggestions.

I think you just need to make sure if your get another 150 to get one without the remote. That would include the USB model also I think. No remote.

Or, consider getting a USB-UIRT to use as your IR blaster -- it is probably cheaper than buying another tuner and can control more than 1 STB.
