Network Encoder Troubles

I've setup another server and enabled it to be a network encoder, then changed the setting on the main server to discover network encoders, it sees this new server, but when I try to add it as a video source, the part were it will display a preview never shows any video.

I can use my Placeshifter and connect to the new server that is an encoder, and watch video just fine, what might I be overlooking?

Both servers are running the same version, no firewall is in the way. I see the connection established between the two on port 6969 when I view netstat.

The main server is running gentoo that I installed from the sage supplied ISO and the new server is running FC8.

Good question, whichever version you get with wget http://download.sagetv.com/linuxweb/server.tar.gz

Downloaded yesterday and installed on both servers the same version

Alright, went through support@sage and got it all sorted.

Seems the encoder and main server need to share /var/media/tv as well as one other change that I didn't see documented in Sage.properties on the server(s) running as encoder(s)

Code:
encoding_server_uploading=false
I've simply nfs exported /var/media/tv on the main server and mounted it as /var/media/tv on the encoder and all seems to be working now.

Many would probably prefer cifs/smb, but I'm an old timer and nfs was far easier and known to me to be far more reliable.
