Sound but no Picture
Hi,
Had a strange case last night. Started to watch "Law & Order" the two hour episode from 01/02/08. All I got for the entire 2 hours was a white screen. Sound was fine but no picture. Programs recorded before and after ( not necessarily on that channel) were fine. Any thoughts. JimB50 Last edited by Jimb50; 01-11-2008 at 09:45 AM. Reason: Title backwards

 , you might want to check your thread title. It's a little confusing as the issue in the title is opposite the issue you describe in the body.

I'm no pro but I've been using sageTV long enough to have some experience. I can tell you now it's not likely anyone will have an answer with out a few more details. Here are a few things that might help if you can answer them.
Have you seen this before? Have you watched the file in VLC or another media player? Does the same thing happen? Have you changed any hardware recently (especially tuners)? What is your tuner setup? Can you reproduce it?

That was the first and so far the only time I've seen it.
I erased the file, so I'm not able to check it with another program. (Sorry I didn't think about trying that) I'm running 2 PVR 1600's one dedicated to analog and one digital. It's been running for a few months in the current setup. JimB50

If you don't have the file and haven't seen it before in 2 months. I'd say there's not much troubleshooting that can be done. There's just to broad a range of things it could be. On the bright side, if you haven't seen it in 2 months it's possible it was an issue with your cable broadcast of that specific show. Maybe it won't happen again.
If it pops back up in the future, make sure you keep the file. Knowing weather it's a recording or playback issue is the first step.
