I switched it to "true" and it's gone again, so I think this is the problem. Can all of you try making this switch and see if it corrects your problems? Hopefully someone at Sage can figure out how to make it so always_use_dshow_player=true means use dshow for everything other than Flash.

Here's something I heard about that you could try -- set this property while SageTV is closed:

media_player_plugin_class/flv=sage.LinuxMPlayerPlugin

This is for the current UI, so if using service mode, set it in sageclient.properties to affect the UI on the server.

On line content playback problem fixed!!!!

After a few bites at the apple with sageTV support, I got this email---and it worked!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a bug and will be fixed in an upcoming version.

The workaround is to just set the 'Video on Menus' option to be 'If Active'
instead of 'Always'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

On line playback IS normal now.

Opus4, this fix works! I've been using the "always_use_dshow_player=true" to get the best playback with my setup, but this broke the online services video feeds. Adding "media_player_plugin_class/flv=sage.LinuxMPlayerPlugin" to my sage.properties file did the trick!

O, and I had upgraded to 6.4.3 because it was stated that this exact bug was fixed in 6.4.2, but it was not. It's only fixed now with your suggestion here. Thank you again!

Choosing soundcard for mplayer

Hi!

Iīve got two soundcards and when I set SageTV to use LinuxMPlayerPlugin for flv the sound for online media went through the default soundcard which I donīt use for SageTV.
This is what I wrote in the properties file to get online media to play without stopping after 30 sec and to get the sound through the "not default" soundcard:

always_use_dshow_player=true
media_player_plugin_class/flv=sage.LinuxMPlayerPlugin
mplayer/audio_renderer=dsound:device=2

It looks like the device number corresponds to the number the "DirectX diagnostic tool" shows for the device. You start this tool by * open the startmenu * choose "run" * write dxdiag next to open and click ok.

Thanks a lot for all the help in the forum especially Andy/Opus4. You seem to know and find out almost anything about configuring SageTV. Itīs been a really big help lots of times. Iīm very grateful!

/Lars
