SageTV HD Extender - no 240v version?

Can someone tell me when the SageTV HD extenders will be available as a UK/Europe version with a 240v psu??? Sage just told me they are currently 110v only (see below).

The 110V I cannot understand. All the HD Extenders I've seen up til now comes with 110V-2x0V PSU. Or mine would have blown out long ago

Only hickup is that you will need to retool the powercord. It comes with a US plug, so you will need to cut it off and put on one for your country.

But the 110V, directly from Sage. Can't really understand. Maybe some from Sage could comment?

As the poster above said it comes with a 110-240v PSU. All you need to do is chop off the US plug and replace it with a standard UK 3 pin plug. Mine works a treat and so does many others from the UK and Europe.

So How did you guys get your extenders into Europe / UK ? Did you just order them from the website??.

My knowledgeable Sage employee said they don`t ship to UK, but perhaps he`s wrong about that aswell.

And I was hoping that sage customer services were going to be good

They're not that bad Although the 110V must be a misunderstanding. About the ship to UK. To be fair, he says they only ship FROM the US. Not that they do not ship to the UK. Probably meant to indicate that they do not have a distributor directly in the UK.

I have ordered my 2 HD Extenders directly from the web-shop on SageTV. Should be no problem. Although there will be a shipping charge, and here in Norway we get hit with import tax too. Other than that. No problems.

Fair comment. Anyway looks like I`m good to go then - I see in another thread there is a beta firmware for PAL support, so I guess it will be best to wait for that to go final before taking the plunge.

George was also correct in the power supply was 110v as thats the only type of plug it has. The support you recieved is fine and you coming here for a non-company line alternative (chopping the cord) is too. Instead be glad sage provides you both forms of support.

Even though it says its beta it works fine with PAL, I dont have any major problems with the extender running beta firmware. For me the extender is 100 times more stable than running a pc based client and loads cheaper.

BTW: The FAQ at the top of this forum has a link to the SageTV HD Media Extender pictures, where you can see a view of the back w/the power info & cord.

Oh, and wouldn't there be some sort of adapter you could use instead of cutting the cord?

Yep a travel adaptor would also work fine but would be slightly more expensive than a single plugtop, only by a few pence mind.

Been using the hd media extender here in Australia (240 volts) for a few months now with no problems at all.
Just brought a U.S. to Australian travel adaptor, as I didn't want to risk any sort of warranty claim by cutting off the U.S plug and it hasn't missed a beat.
So far as shipping goes, my extender actually arrived quicker than some local shipping does.
All in all, couldn't be any more happier with Sage and the hd extender.
