auto compress problem

I am using sage 6.4.184 and sageMC stv 6.3.7a. I went into the series settings to enable autocompress for for a few of the cartoons my kids watch. I selected in place compression. I get the new avi files but i cant play them back in sage or windows media player. I manually installed the latest xvid codec. still no playback. Is there something other than the stv that I ned to install to use this feature?

Try loading up the default STV, manually scheduling a compression using the same profile, and seeing if you have the same problem. Also, try playing the videos with VLC.
