This won't help fix your problem at all - but I also could never get FLAC encoded files to play on my Sage Clients. Said files DID play in Windows media player.
I only ever tested with madFlac. If I recall I got Video but no audio. btl.

Weird, might just be stuck with the WinAmp solution then...
Guess I could just copy over my MP3 version of everything, and use that instead, I just thought having the lossless version on the home theater was nice... I'm not sure I've ever seen a thread where someone had it working without an external player of some sort...maybe I'm wrong.
