Benefits to reloading 32bit Vista to 64 Bit

I am about 80% done setting up my new sage TV server with it running Vista 32bit. The proc is a AMD 5400 and I have 2GB of RAM now but I've ordered up another 2GB. For video I have a PVR-150, a PVR-1600, and a HDHR.

I was thinking about reloading the OS with 64 bit Vista to get better performance and also so I could load up Virtualazation software to run one 64 Virtual Machine on the box.

My research says all of my components have 64 bit drivers. What do you all think of the benefits/pitfalls to going 64 bit?

Some 16 bit programs will not run even in compatability mode. Thats about it...I have switched all my machines to vista 64. Another disadvantage is that vista 64 forces "signed" drivers as part of there whole trusted computing garbage. It forced me to buy a new joystick because my old joysticks drivers were not digitals "signed" with MS, seal of approval

I like Xp for 32 bit and Vista for 64 bit. I don't like vista 32 bit because it hogs memory and can't even support 4GB....If its goign to hog it it had better support it! 4Gb is enough with vista 64 onmy laptop, but Im running 8GB for the PC and its REAL snappy. Probably the biggest benefit when it comes to Sage would be the extra memory, but I'm not sure how much that would help it if it all after a a certain point.
