Parental filtering software causing extender problems

I'm trying to install parental internet filtering software on our server machine. (www.safeeyes.com) It works like a lot of filtering software - by checking its own server whenever the computer tries to make a web connection to figure out whether or not the request should be blocked as porn or whatever. It's wreaking havoc on Sage though, and I'm trying to figure out any way to get the two to coexist if I can.

I'm running Sage in service mode, and use the server as a playback machine, and also have an HD100. When the filtering software is installed, the HD100 will work okay for awhile, but then will start hanging up pretty bad, making menu navigation extremely slow and causing hangs every few seconds when watching tv. Occassionally it will even drop the connection to the server completely. When this happens and I check the server, Sage has the "lost connection to the server" message and the sage service is in the process of restarting.

I assume the problem is that something in the communication between HD100 and the Sage server is getting hung-up by the filtering software. The software provides a way to "bypass" certain sites, and I tried putting in the IP of the HD100, but it didn't make a difference.

Can anyone think of anything else that the server could be recognizing as an "internet" type request that I could try to get the filtering software to bypass? Or any other suggestions on ways to try to debug this, short of just uninstalling the filtering software?

Thanks!
