DirecTV serial control oddness: channel 101

so I've got a DirecTV H21-200 being controlled through a Paterson serial device. This setup generally works very well, but there is one oddball case where it's been failing. On Wednesdays currently the H21 is used to record first "Friday Night Lights" on DTV channel 101 and immediately after, SageTV tunes to Bravo on 273 for "Top Chef". The problem is this channel change fails and it tunes to ESPN instead, which is channel 73. As you see, the leading '2' gets borked. I *never* have channel changing problems except for this case and it's now happened 3 weeks in a row.

I tried a couple times manually through the program guide going from 101 to 273 and have seen this fail myself. I can go from another channel to 273 no problem. It's a bit baffling. It has to be something odd about coming from the 101 channel but I have no idea what the problem is and whether it's Sage, the Paterson cable or the DTV receiver. I guess I'll try tuning any other channel from 101 and see if the same thing happens.

Looks like it was the Paterson device. I tried it with other 101->2xx channel change combinations and it would drop the leading '2' with any of them, not just Bravo. Turns out the device was in the "H20-600" compatibility mode and resetting it to "Normal" seems to have solved it.
