Question about Recording Quality and HDHR

If it is my intention for SageTV to simply capture the transport stream from my HDHR, what should be selected when I go to: Setup Menu -> Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Recording Quality?

The reason I ask is that when recording, my CPU Utilization seems kind of high (40%) for a task that is simply capturing a data stream and writing it to disk. It seems as though my PC is doing some kind of encoding rather than just capturing the stream. Is there some other setting I need to check?

Thanks...

It doesn't matter what you choose. The HDHR ignores that setting. You should bring up Task Manager to see what other processes are running on your computer.

Well, there is something going on that I don't get then.

If I record a stream using STV (CPU Utilization about 35%) and then transfer this stream to another computer for viewing (since the recording computer does not have the required graphics horsepower), the file is unwatchable. However, if I record a stream using the HDHomerun_config utility (CPU Utilization about 30%) and then transfer that to the other computer, that file plays fine. Any ideas?

My CPU usage is almost non-existent (<10%) on my server when running Sage and recording via the HDHomerun (or recording from anything for that matter) on an AMD 4850e proc. As stated, are you sure it is only when you are recording? Is there something else running in the background? Are you using comskip or SA?
