want some info about sagetv customize

Hi Newbie here when it comes to sagetv,anyway here is the info i would like to no about sagetv customizations please before i buy it

im a vista mediacenter user at the moment and i have plugins to show mymovies and tv shows that i have ripped from my dvd's does sagetv have any way of showing theses on the main menu like (videos and Tv shows (i dont mean recorded tv)) i want it like the media browser in vmc or even like mediaportal thanks for advice

You can create custom links to imported videos which will do what your asking but it may not be to your liking and could be tricky to setup. I currently have two custom links on my main menu, one for movie premieres and the other for TV shows which I've imported. The TV shows link is pretty much redundant now as I prefer to use a new metadata scraper tool to import these shows directly into Sage's database and veiw them via TV recordings. The movie premieres link is very handy for other members of the family to see what new movies have been added recently without having to scroll through a 600+ database of movies.

jaminben, could you be so kind in telling me how to copy your setup please it sounds like thats what i want in the way of your tv shows you have imported

If you want your TV shows imported into Sage's database and appear in the recordings screen so they look like they've been recorded from TV then visit this Link.

If your after the way my menu's are setup then you'll have to search the forums as that gets a bit tricky and I cannot remember myself how to set it up. I did ask when I first started playing with Sage so if you look through my history of posts you may find the post which told me how to do it. I will look later but I dont have time now.

Download the movie info app (can be found in download section) and enable fanart. This will get close to media browser

also try his tv info addin both great additions.

I am a convert myself although it is not a flash as media browser the functionality is there and I have grown to like have my movies in native format.
