MVPs stutter with Windows Sage recordings only

I just switched from the linux version of Sage 6.3 (with Hauppauge analog tuner boards) to the Windows version 6.5 (with Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600, ATSC tuner). I also have two wired MediaMVPs. The problem is that the MediaMVPs stutter when used with the Windows Sage, although the same recordings that stutter through the MVPs play through Placeshifter just fine. And, if I copy some shows recorded with the linux Sage over to the Windows Sage, they play back fine from the Windows Sage through the MVPs, so the problem seems to be in the way the Windows Sage is encoding the recordings.
It's not a bandwidth issue, because the linux Sage was set to record to MPEG2 at 3.2 GB/Hr (and they play fine from Windows Sage) and the Windows Sage is set to record to MPEG2 at 1.3 GB/Hr (and they stutter from Windows Sage). It also shouldn't be a transcoding issue, since both are encoding to MPEG2.

Any ideas are appreciated. I'm stumped.

I was having the same problem using wireless to connect to my MVP. I had to run a cable in order to get it to play without stuttering. this is defiantly an issue in the software as it was working flawlessly over wireless before the "upgrade". Even with the MVP connected via Ethernet I still get occasional stuttering after a commercial skip. I have tested the connection and I am getting over 70% throughput on the line when transferring data from my Sage server to my laptop.

I have tried the latest Betas, they have been better but nothing like 6.3.

OK, I believe I see the problem (but not the solution). When I play one of the linux-recorded mpgs back through an external player, it show the video bitrate at 3.3mbps. When I play one of the Windows-recorded mpgs back, it shows the video bitrate at 16.6mpbs!

In each case, I've got the recording quality set to 3.2GB/Hr, but even after changing it to VCD (0.6 GB/Hr) in the Windows Sage, it doesn't seem to make a difference, even after restarting Sage; btw, not using the Sage Windows service.
