Default Focus

I am having trouble configuring the default focus for tables not quite sure where to call it as I keep locking sage up trying.

I am using ensurefocusforvariable and setfocusforvariable to keep scrolling centered. I am wanting upon menuload to set the focus in the center of the table. I have tried menuneedsdefault focus hooks in the main menu and layoutstarted within the table but nether gets me results as I am guessing I am calling wrong underneath the hooks.

Under these hookes do I need to be using setfocusforvariable or ensurefocusforvariable or both?

After Looking at some examples I see how to call it but it doesn't seem to work

I am using

EnsureVisibilityForVariable("VideoCell",GetElement(GroupedVideos,0),5)
SetFocusForVaraible("VideoCell",GetElement(GroupedVideos,0))

VideoCell = Cell of table
GroupedVideos = is the group for the table

Can I call getelement within it like this? Do I need to be doing this somwhere under the table widget instead of in menuneedsdefault focus?

Yeah I have it working on listeners like that no problem but I can't get it to set the focus on menu load to where I want it.
