Run wget or other external program on HD2000

I recently purchased an HD2000 and love it. I do, however, have one lingering function that my HTPC could do that I have not figured out how to do with the HD2000.

I run some home automation software for my lighting and am able to access certain controls via the HA webserver. I had tied an IR keypress to Eventghost which would then call wget to access the page on the HA webserver to either turn my lights on or off. I had a separate button mapped to on and off with a different wget url for each.

My question is simple. Is there a way to do this with the HD2000? Ideally, I would like to have it recognize a button on the remote and call a script, but I would even be happy with creating menu options for lights on/off that would call the script to hit the webserver.

Is any of this possible with the HD2000?

You don't need to run any custom code on the extender hardware. With customizable menus, you can create a menu item that runs a batch file or shell script on the server (which is where the extender UI executes).

There's a customizable menu plugin for the stock STV, and SageMC has that feature built in.

Ahhh.. That's the part I wasn't clear on. That should work out pretty good then. I'm using SageMC.

I guess this may be a discussion for the SageMC subforum, but is there a way to tie a menu item (ala shortcut key) to a button on my remote that controls the HD2000?
