Where can I post feature requests for the HD200 in standalone mode?

I do not [plan to] own SageTV software.

I'm namely after UI changes. The firmware that was on it when I got it was over a year old. But it would let me do a single column list when browsing the 'Import Library.' Current firmware versions seem to require 2 columns.

Also, I'd like the ability to turn off the feature for basing the folder icons on the content of the folder.

Thx in advance,
Jim

Emailing support is the official way to submit feature requests. Anything posted on the forum may or may not be noticed by SageTV, since it's user-user forum, not an official tech support channel.

The single column mode option was removed from the standalone UI as part of optimizing the code so performance on the HD200 could be improved. Removing certain UI options helped speed up the UI starting at this firmware update. I doubt the option will be re-added.

I appreciate the reply. I'm finding the reasoning difficult to accept as they left single column support in for directly navigating the network folder structure and it runs just fine.

I'm already in contact with someone for a bug in the ui rendering. I'll wait to avoid confusing the issues.

The file browser menu never had multi-column capability, so it had no similar option to remove to increase performance. A lot of time was spent on all the browser menus to find things to tweak to improve performance in standalone mode, so the reasoning behind each decision is perfectly clear to me.

HD200 needs write access?

Browsing files on an SMB share is already painfully slow (2-6sec/folder layer), specially since it's supposedly indexed. I don't want it to get any slower.

Do you know if the HD200 is expecting to be able to cache anything on the shared folders? I've removed all write access and I'm starting to wonder if that's actually slowing it down.
