How to refresh meta data?

I have been adding video folders and putting meta data in the folders such as .properties files that have the video shows description. When I make changes to the folder such as the name of the folder or to the .properties files I have not been successful in finding a way to refresh the data so that I can see the changes I made when in SageMC and viewing the folder in Videos. I have tried Rescan Import folders and it works for sometimes but not always.

As an example: I changed the name of a movie folder from Dog Days to S1E2 Dog Days. This folder should now show up in Videos as S1E2 Dog Days but it continues to show up as Dog Days. I made similar changes to other folders and they display correctly.

One other but related question; how do I specify a font size for folder titles that will be same regardless of how long the folder title is?

Thanks

Any time I have to refresh any meta data, I just re-import the file. In your case, move your Dog Days video to a folder that isn't an import directory, refresh imported media, then move it to the actual import directory, and then refresh again. If I remember correctly, I left the properties file in the import directory. It does take time but I rarely have to do this so it's no biggie. There also might be a way to refresh meta data with the web server but I don't have much experience with it. Hope this helps...

If the file hasn't changed, it will not look at the new .properties file. It detects the change by looking at the file-date. You can euther 'touch' the file by changing the date, or as suggested, move it out of the folder, refresh (so sage see's it no longer there and clears it's metadata), copy it back to the folder, and refresh again (sage will see a NEW file, with an associated .properties file, and use the new data.

The reason it doens't do this, is if it assumed that the files had changed every time it scanned, it would have to parse out every properties file, for every imported item, every time it 'refreshed'. Excessive to say the least.

I believe using BMT might actually be easier for you (you can make the changes there, which will automatically 'touch' the files, I believe.
