Rename drive connected via USB

I am trying to rename a drive that I've connected to the USB port on the HD200. Obviously, there is no 'rename' command via the HD200 GUI. There is also no 'rename' command when I browse the drive via my PC on the network.

I've also tried to telnet into the HD200 and used the command sequence:

cd /tmp/extender
mv <current_drive_name> <new_drive_name>

I get an error saying that the drive is busy.

I wanted to umount it but I got scared since I am not a Linux savvy user.

Any advice?

The reason why I want to change the name is because the default name is really long and absurd.

If this is using fat32 or ntfs you can plug the drive into a Windows pc open Windows explorer right click on the drive and select rename.

I've formatted the drive in EXT3. I read on these forums that it should be formatted in EXT3 to allow others to write into the drive while it's connected on the USB port of the HD200 and the HD200 acts as a file server.

Let me see if I can find an EXT3 driver for WinXP.

Either Ext2ifs http://www.fs-driver.org/

or Ext2fsd http://www.ext2fsd.com/

should do the trick. Both will work on XP but only fsd will install on Win 7.
