dish network vip222k tv2 output

for those of you that have the 222 (or similar dual tv receivers) how is the image quality of the tv2 output and more specifically how does it handle the format when it scales down HD channels?

is it more like you get from cable boxes like the 4250HD where it window boxes the HD feed or does it scale the HD feed and retain the aspect ratio?

i'm a current comcast customer and actually have no beef with comcast - just looking ahead to when i will eventually be forced to have to use cable boxes at which time i have no desire to pay their box fees for the number of tuners i need.
