HD100 Doesn't put Monitor into standby

I recently picked up a used HD100 to replace a Media MVP in my bedroom. the "TV" in that room is actually a 20" Dell monitor with a composite input.

My problem is when I turn off the HD100, my monitor stays activie instead of going into standby mode. The MVP didn't have this problem so I assume its something with the HD100. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Is it possible this is another symptom of failing caps? I haven't replaced this ones caps yet because it hasn't shown any symptoms of failure.

How are you connecting it the monitor, same cables as the MVP?

The bulged caps problem was a power supply issue, so it shouldn't be related to your problem.

Normally, when the HD100 is off, it should stop sending video/audio signal to the TV.

Yeah, same cables (composite to the Monitor). I'm going to try to dig up and S-video cable to use and see if that makes any difference.

Does your monitor have DVI? An HDMI->DVI cable will cause the monitor to turn off when you turn the HD100 off.

It does, and if an s-vid cable doesn't work I'll get an HDMI-DVi. I'm more curious really as to why the HD100 doesn't put the monitor to sleep.
