Slow Video Browsing

So I thought the video browsing would be faster since it is supposed to do thumbnails, etc. in the background. But its still very slow browsing videos...I have to wait a few seconds as it refreshes/loads each row of thumbnails. Any idea what I can do to speed that up? Should I report it as a bug?

What STV are you using & on what type of UI? (PC, some type of extender, placeshifter...)

Nevermind...I think this was caused by the Phoenix Fan Art plugin I installed. I had to go into the settings and tell it to rescale everything

For what it's worth, Video browsing is much much quicker with v7 for me. I have my videos on a file share on separate PC and had been grumbling about how slow browsing was with Sage so this new version came right on time for me. Thanks.

Im finding on the HD100 extender that browsing the video library is almost unusable - I have my java heap set at 400mb and was previously running V6 with SageMC on the extender - the performance was not great , but better than Im seeing now - anyone else found this ?

Edit - Im running the latest beta on the HD100

Cheers

Mark

I ran one of the latest beta firmwares before Sage 7 came out and found myself in the same boat as you, EVERYTHING was loading slowly and dragging. I ended up rolling back my firmware and living with the slight sluggishness of the HD100 with all the fluff enabled.

Today I upgraded to Sage 7 and then latest beta on my HD100 ( hesitantly as I was afraid of all the slowdowns again but had to due to Font issues ) I must say I am REALLY impressed, my extender is really moving right along now, I would double check that you do indeed have the latest beta firmware.

Thank you - good call - I had the latest firmware (On Sunday) - downloaded the new sage, ran and updated my extender - forgetting to put in the 2382 on the update firmware page.

Of course that downgraded me.

I've reupdated and its much better - I have found changing the number of icons to a 3 x 3 grid helps as well.

Anyone know how to get the folder art to display the same size ? (Not all of mine are exactly the same - in MC it wasn't noticable - but it is here !)

Cheers

Mark
